Sharing the wanderlust

hi! I'm sarah

I created this site to share my travels with my family and friends. Around here you'll find snippets from my adventures as well as some of the things I see, do, explore, learn and eat along the way.

In case anyone other than my Mum and my lovely friend Hannah reads this (Hi Mum! Hi Han!) I'll also share some of the things I discover that I couldn't find when researching parts of my trip (for example whether I could get from Croatia to the Una National Park in Bosnia and Herzegovina by bus - yes, you can!).

If you'd like to know a little more about me and my style of travel. Read on...

share the

adventure

Over time, I'll add some blog posts about my travels.

My plan is to share the magic of some of the amazing destinations I get to visit, as well as things I discover which might be helpful along the way.

Whether it's how I got where I'm going, the tools and tech that's keeping me safe and on course, the costs (and hidden costs of travel), the highlights, the lowlights and everything in between - I aim to share the always honest and sometimes messy experience that is solo female travel in your 40s.

Plus, if I ever become the ultimate travel unicorn I hope to (aka someone who's amazing at packing and packs super light - it could happen!) I'll let you know how the heck I did it. (But don't hold your breath on that one).  🙂

A few little nuggets of information about my travels so far

Countries Visited

I know, I know, travel isn't about the 'click and tick' but I do love a stamp in my passport! The lifetime count is currently 39 countries visited so far.

Currently In

I'm currently in Türkiye and while I *should* be sightseeing, all I can find the energy to do right now is rest! It's been a big six months. 🙂

Average Spend

I'm aiming for budget travel that's also conscious and ethical. At the moment I'm averaging AUD $75 per day and I'd like to reduce this a lot!

Luggage Status

I had the good fortune of leaving a stack of stuff with a friend in Türkiye so I can test drive travelling lighter. So far I like it. I like it a lot. 🙂
